Create a photographic series using only found images. Arrange this series in a book in which the design will support the idea of the image sequence.
Start by doing a research of images that interest you, that aren’t necessarily connected together, but that gain a certain strength when arranged together. They can be images of anything, or even made by yourself, as if they were ‘found’ pieces of materials. The goal is to create a sense of grouping, things that get their meaning by their interrelationships.
Discuss the images with the professor and start imagining the series within a bound publication.
Pay attention, this is not a collection of things that are personal to you, but that do not really affect an audience that is external of your close circle. This image collection needs to be witty, mature and intelligent.
Following the above, start imagining the sequence with a careful consideration of the position of the images within it. Which image is a good start, what is a good conclusion? Imagine the book as an object and start thinking about all of its part: cover, back cover, spine, title page, etc. Meanwhile, think about the binding technique that will be in use. Give your publication a title.
Finally, produce the book using the techniques you have learned in class. Be very meticulous with production.
Requirements

— Consider the printing technique early in the process
— Poorly printed images won’t be convincing
— Images should have a minimum of 300dpi at placement size
— Evaluation of the page count will depend on research quality
— It can be in black and white or in full color
Elements of Focus
— Book Cover
— Back Cover
— Photographic Research
— Idea Conveyed by the Photographic Research
— Image Sequence (order)
— Good Use of Grid in InDesign
